Gnocchi

Gnocchi were created through the imagination of Neapolitan pasta-makers. Although they are made with durum-wheat semolina, their shape, but only their shape, was inspired, by the classic potato gnocchi. The Shape
Gnocchi Barilla are characterized by a soft round shape, a delicate central cavity and thin lines on the outer surface. This captivating and unusual shape for a durum-wheat semolina pasta, makes them incomparable in gathering and embracing both the thickest and the lightest sauces.

Suggestions for use
The ideal sauce for Gnocchi, in line with traditional Italian cuisine, is a simple tomato sauce. Great with this simple basil fragranced sauce, or with a richer meat ragł, which you can find in the Barilla Sauces collection; for a highly-flavoured and appetizing dish, try adding some diced lard and a sprinkle of pecorino cheese to the meat sauce. Gnocchi Barilla, besides being of very nice appearance, are particularly good also with a simple curl of butter and classic Parmigiano Reggiano.
