Conchiglie Rigate
Cooking time: 12 min
Inspired by sea shells, they are probably one of the most famous and beloved shapes in the world, owing to their enchanting shape, capable of capturing the treasures of flavour. Barilla, Italy's n.1 pasta, studied their perfect shape, the richness in flavour of pasta made with the best durum-wheats, the perfect cooking always al dente, as in the most authentic Italian pasta tradition. Barilla turned it into a veritable masterpiece of high-standard cuisine, one of the main features in its range of precious and exclusive shapes: La Collezione Barilla.

The Shape
Conchiglie Rigate are a graceful concave shape, reminding you of those shells you might find on the seashore, and clever external grooves. A well-balanced structure, with that secret hollow that gathers even the lightest sauce without difficulty, makes them a real work of art.
Ideal to spark creativity in the kitchen, they're great combined with dishes inspired to the most refined and elegant recipes in Italian culinary art.

Suggestions for use
This shape is perfect with sauces that love to be embraced by their snug form, by the large hollow that cherishes all flavours, transmitting them to the palate in all their fragrance.
Barilla suggests you try them with sauces deriving from traditional recipes from the various Italian northern regions. Alternatively, from Apulian cuisine, a region in southern Italy that values simple products of the land and sea, comes a sauce with mussels and broccoli, enhanced with the flavour of tomatoes. A symphony of fragrances and colours that harks back to a beloved and celebrated Italy.
